Philosophy is a fundamental subject matter, and its study equips any student for work in a wide variety of fields. There are currently approximately 50 philosophy majors and minors at W&L. In addition to going to graduate school in philosophy, our majors (and now minors) have gone on to pursue careers in law, education, information technology, banking, advertising, medicine, health sciences, journalism, and the armed forces.
